The Cherry Mouseboard (also known as the G80-3500) is one of the most rare Cherry keyboards. It was originally designed and released sometime between 1990 and 1991 and apparently did not survive the market for longer than 6 months. The goal was to combine both input devices - the mouse and a keyboard into one device. Therefore, instead of the usual arrow keys you will find the odd mouse controller on the Mouseboard. This pad works similar to a trackpoint and can be dragged into any direction. Furthermore it features 4 buttons for normal cursor operation.

The keyboard can be used in two modes: mouse-mode and cursor-mode. In mouse-mode it controls the mouse (via serial input) and in cursor-mode the keyboard will send the keystrokes based on where you drag the mouse-control. A very.... interesting experience.

It seems as the Mouseboard normally came in a colorful and fancy packaging box, while mine only comes in a brown cardboard box. Going by the weird marks on the label and some manual soldering inside, its possible that this was a pre-production model.

I purchased the keyboard along with all the original documentation for a fair price from another collector in early 2011.
