Cherry G80-0801 Nixdorf Soft-Click
Double-shot keycaps, Cherry MX White (Clicky), 1986

This Nixdorf branded Cherry G80-0801 is one of the oldest MX switch boards I have seen. It still uses the ancient clicky white MX switches, which were eventually replaced by MX Blue switches as early as 1988. The key-feel is kinda similar to Cherry MX Blue, but feels a bit more stiff. The closest match to these nowadays is probably the MX Green switch.

As with most keycaps of this time, they are double-shot molded with the exception of some complex legend keys, which instead use Cherry's own pad-printing technology with a coating to protect the legend.

The board it self was most likely to be bundled with a Nixdorf computer of that time, but I don't know any details. It is not PC compatible and seems to output keycodes in a custom protocol.
