Cherry G80-0247
Double-shot keycaps, Cherry M8 Linear switches, 1984
This is one of the oldest keyboards in my collection and one of the first commercial keyboards that Cherry made. Starting from the early 80s this was the first keyboard series to introduced the G80 line.
The keyboard originally was able with or without a case and could be used for custom projects due to working on standard ASCII encoding. There is a pin-out as well as some additional information available with the board. I was lucky enough to get a all original documents with the keybaord when I purchased it. You can find the scans of the original documents below.
The G80-0247 uses the Cherry M8 linear keyswitch, which was the first keyswitch to use the goldswitch contacts. It is what later evolved to the MX switch.
