Amiga 2000 keyboard
Cherry MX Black, Double-shot keycaps, 1986
In 1986 Commodore released the Amiga 2000, as a high-end alternative to the entry level model Amiga 500. The very first batch of the Amiga 2000 shipped with a keyboard produced by Cherry in Germany. These keyboards are supposed to be extremely rare and seem to reach prices up to $1200 among Amiga collectors. All later versions of the keyboard were produced by different companies. In total there have been four revisions of the keyboard, decreasing in quality with each batch.
The Amiga 2000 keyboard made by Cherry features Cherry MX Blacks and the old-style double-injection molded keycaps made from ABS plastic. The Spacebar and the Enter key both included a reversed rubber-cap to soften the sound and keyfeel when bottoming out. I do not know if this feature was included by default or if it has been added by the previous owner.
The Amiga keys are compatible with modern Cherry boards and the "A" keys fit the front row and could be used to replace Windows keys.
